When I saw Peter's Growing Up show in Toronto in 2005, I thought it was the best $175 I had ever spent [and it is still the best concert I have ever seen], but I was taken aback to see ticket prices for the upcoming tour when it hits Toronto. The venue is less than ideal for such an event, and with moderately good seats priced at almost $500 per [over $1,200 for a pair after the outrageous ticket agent 'service' and delivery fees are added], I don't know if I can justify spending that kind of cash, even for Mr. Gabriel. I wonder if he is aware of the exorbitant prices being charged for seats to his show. It's going to make for kind of an elite crowd at the show, not what I picture his fan base to be. Just wondering.

I don't think those were the actual ticket prices - I think they were people banking on their ability to get them once they do go on sale - I don't think any official sale has happened yet.
. at least I hope. I've been a Peter Gabriel fan since I was a little kid (I was born well after his career began), and have yet to get a chance to see him live.
If it does work out to north of $1000 for 2 tickets, I will continue to not have a chance to see him live, and that would be a real shame.

Cat Doc, I can't find ticket prices for the TO show. I've tried Live Nation and Ticketmaster. Can you tell me which website has the prices listed?

I found a site earlier that had some exorbitant prices listed for the United Center show in Chicago, which I'm eagerly awaiting a presale for. The site was kind of shady, and if you're not finding it on Ticketmaster or LiveNation, I'd recommend dismissing it.

PG is not listed yet on teh Red Rocks calendar but the reserved seats for Ray LaMontagne are only 60.00 so I'm hopeful.
Funny I think I paid less than 30.00 for PG tickets back in 93.

Fernuswitty, a lot of the shows don't have ticket sales up yet. Keep your eyes peeled.
If the United Center tickets are anything like that confirmed Berkeley prices (the only date with confirmed pricing/sales as far as I know), I guess I'll be targeting the $135 bracket. I'd kill for whatever the $250 deal is, but I just don't think I can spend that money.

I am looking for tix for Camden, NJ. It's on the PG site but not on ticketmaster site or the site for the venue. I don't want to miss this!
to comment on the ticket prices.
I would like to think that all artists know what is going on with ticket prices. But they might not. It is kind of elitist to price out fans. I am willing to pay but not too much. I paid $75 per tix for nosebleed for Genesis 3 years ago. I would have paid $200 for better seats.
I would like to at least know what to budget for the Camden show. Any insight would be cool.
First and last time I saw PG - twice on the "So" tour in 1986/87. I am soooooo ready!

I stand corrected. Tickets for the Toronto show don't go on sale until April 4, 2011, and the prices are in the range of $66-204. The prices I was seeing were on sites that resell tickets at exorbitant prices, basically legalized extortion. 'Bout time something was done about this, but I guess it 'buyer beware' here as with many things, especially on the Internet.
Should be a great show!
