I'm with you DolceVita. your idea / suggestion sums it up after all and I most certainly agree. (I'll check out the filthy places on Saturday Night then . yeah. In concerns to recognize each other . I don't think this will be a problem . I'll be at the bar :-] around 5 pm should be a decent time. Any chance to have some fundamental pasta there to prepare for the night? Or only liquids in there? p.s. Caste. where do all the different forums meet ?

Er . hold on . I got Eglise and Emanuel mixed up. This is the glaceria and coffee place . is it (Emanuel)??

I'm living in Verona : "Eglise" is a wine bar, very refined. "Emanuel" is essentially a coffee and icecream bar (very good)just in front of Arena, for tourists . . .

Ok, Emanuel would be cool too. It's a different kind of meeting: shorter and more relaxed. And definitely closer to the arena!

Hi Everyone, Just to confirm the meeting is at Gelateria Bar Emanuel Piazza Brà between the sound check and concert correct? I'll be at the sound check and hopefully I can tag along so I won't get lost. First time in Italy!!! Can't wait! I'm arriving from Canada on Saturday afternoon and would love to meet up that day as well, if anyone's up for it- I'm really up for anything. 20 days to go!

Hi DolceVita, Any ideas for dinner Saturday night close to the Arena-I'm staying at a hotel on Via Dietro Pallone?
Apache 7 September 2010 at 8:11pm Posts: 134 (0 today) Status: offline
Hi Folks, I'd have to lie to say I'm extremely excited about a Coffee & Icecream-Place to meet up at before such a tremendous event. *g* . but anyhow. But like Bluedogs initiated just now. let's get to the rael facts here. it's only 2 weeks down the road left. 1. What's the bets pizza place in Verona? 2. What's the best pasta place in Verona 3. How much is a beer or vino tinto in that touristy coffee-bar? (including the size pls) 4. Is there pasta or pizza in this touristy coffee-bar? 5. If yes. is it any good ? and finally and most important 6. Is there a decent survival chance if attending the Verona - Lazio Roma Game in the afternoon before having some ice-cream ? :-]

Hi! Ok,Bluedogs,it's difficult to answer. . . . .i only say that around the Arena there are many places to eat,you can find restaurants, bars,"bottega" (a sort of "wines-shop" where you can eat cheese or other typical local plates with local wines),or pizza. Around the Arena you will find a lot of alleys, only walk in these small streets you will see all these places. . . . all have the menu display to the public. Apache, with help of my husband,i answer: 1) The best pizza here for a lot of "veronesi" (Verona-inhabitants) is "Pizzeria Bella Napoli" - Via Marconi (more info you find on int), not far from Piazza Bra. (directly on Piazza Bra "Pizzeria Olivo",not bad,but for tourists). 2) . . .impossible to answer:-] . . . seriously, you find pasta in every place,in Italy pasta is a worship,so,don't worry. . . .good pasta in every place. 3) . . .ok,we think prices around : a beer 4 euros for a middle beer, and 2 euros of a glass of wine. 4) . . .are you meaning of Emanuel? yes,of course. 5) . . . . ok. . . . . there is not Gualtiero Marchesi (one of the best italian chef) that cooking. . . . . . :-] . But yes,it's fine. 6) Don't worry,no problem, fans of Chievo and Hellas (two teams of Verona) are good and quietly, and especially they don't go in centre of Verona, they will stay around stadium. But they are really fine. Can i say a thing, please? Do not think too much, welcome and have a good time in Italy!
DolceVita 8 September 2010 at 1:02pm Posts: 2330 (0 today) Status: offline
Ok, my apologize, but i am really ignorant about football fans! My husband says that there is a difference: fans of Hellas are not good. . . .but that day will play Chievo, and when Chievo play even the families go to the stadium, they are really quiet and fine ok? . . . . !

I think I'll check out that pizza place! Thanks for all the info DolceVita. I think you're saying that we need to relax while in Italy and just take it in-how very unlike Canada-rush, rush, rush! Ciao

Bluedogs.my daughter and I may bump into you at the Pizzeria Bella Napoli on the 25th. We'll have to see how we're holding up after just flying in that morning from the U.S.
