I could have sworn that I saw him but didn't want to pester the guy. Can anyone verify that he was there?
Thanks!

I thought I saw him too! If it was really him he was wearing a leather jacket and was sitting on the right side. I wanted to get a closer look but I didn't want to ruin his evening.

Yep. Black leather jacket and glasses. I even had the guy next to me Google image Tony Levin on his iPhone just to be sure.
Pretty cool if he was there to support his friend and fellow musician!

Yes it was, I sat three rows in front of him and also said hello outside the theater, he had a back stage id on his neck as well as the man with him who I did not identify. Chef Batali (whoever that is) was also in front of me (i am told) He was very cool even though I was pestering him.

Yes. That was Tony Levin. I met him afterwards outside the theater, just before meeting the master of ceremonies, Peter Gabriel!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a night.

Barry-how did you manage to meet Mr. PG?? My husband asked what door he would be exiting & they did tell us but they said it would be at about 2am. And since we had a 4 hour drive ahead of us & work the next day, unforutunately, we couldn't stay. Do tell!!!

After exiting the theater, my wife and I started walking to our car, which was parked on 51st street. We had to pass the stage entrance to get to our car. As we walked down 51st street we saw some of the musicians exiting the theater. I asked my wife if she wanted to see if Peter would come out. Peter Gabriel is her favorite artist, so of course she said yes. We waited for a little more than an hour, and were getting antsy. We live on Long Island and had about an hours drive home, and I too had to work, so leaving was becoming more of a probability. And then. Peter came out. There were only about 8 of us waiting, so he came over and said hello, signed our ticket stubs and tooks pictures with us. I told him he was on my list of people I needed to meet before I died, and he told me he was honored to be on the list. He shook my hand, and moved onto the next lucky guy. When I looked at the picture of him and my wife, i realized the picture came out like shit, so I approached him one more time as he was getting into his limo, and asked him if he would mind just one more picture. He was so happy to do it and the picture came out perfect. This may have been one of my greatest concert moments. Ive been to hundreds!! Peter Gabriel is so humble, we are still buzzing. I posted the pictures on facebook and everyone I know is freaking out knowing that I had finally met one of my idols!!

Monday's show was attended by The Edge & David Byrne. . . David milled around the lobby quite a bit after the show, spoke to a few people outside - and then pedaled away on his bicycle. :-]

Barry, I don't think I have ever been as jealous of anyone in my life!! lol Unbelievable that you were able to take a picture with him. Wow. That is unreal. What time did he exit? I so wish I could have waited. Maybe next time I'll get my turn!!

I was driving through the Albany area on Wednesday and Tony was being interviewed on WAMC for an upcoming concert at Bear Mountain with his new group Stick Men. So he was definitely in the area.

did anyone see P. hammill on stageÃ?.according to some songs its well possible and he left a kind of wet painting on the cofeetable in front of our place, since there also wswas Luc and pete as to my observation, its possible.i admire him now for his recovery from his stroke, thinking of his musical and stage-presences, amazing indeed, two broken legs are nothing against this.

The photo at right, from New York last Sunday, Peter Gabriel and a few band alumni: Sid McGinnis, Larry Fast and myself - of course we're smiling, Peter did all the work! (performing, as you probably have heard, with orchestra, no band.) Photo by Andi Levin.
