Anybody else at the 1979-80 Roxy Theater "Car" album show. It was pretty amazing to see the band for the first time since Mr. G and Genisis had split.
Dusty Rhodes was on guitar, levin on stick/bass and the other usual suspects. They performed the entire "Car" album and did "Back in New York City" for the encore.
I recall the hightlights were Peter up on the balcony with a single spotlight, stage left with a cordless mic doing "Excuse Me" . Then migrating down to do a cabaret-style cat-waltz across the tiny tables near the front of the stage, pawing himself sensually like Joel Grey as he did the song! Hilarious!!
Looking back now, I realise that balancing on those tiny tables while he performed must have taken a bit of skill. Kudos to Peter on making it look easy.
The "Back in New York City" encore brought down the house. I found out that I was not the only fan of Lamb in the place that night fer sher.
Anybody else remember bein' there that night ?

Thanks heaps! Uh, did I get it wrong about the guitarist being Dusty Rhodes? 'Cause that looks like Robert Fripp fer sher! How could I have forgotten THAT??? (cuckoo clock sounds)
Excellent pictures BTW. Wow. Time flies when you're having hallucinations and visions and surfing the dharma wave.

Oh, I get it! Same tour, different dates. Either that or Peter got a haircut while off stage at some point. Thanks anyway for the fantastic pics "G". Didja know he was gonna be a big big star and outlast Genesis?

Yes, NeedyGreedy. I knew it since I got into Genesis in 1972 to outlast Genesis. I knew it since I heard "And then there were three"
