I was looking through some archive footage of PG singing with Genesis using two dynamic microphones taped together. Was this for backup purposes in case one failed or for other reasons? Would be fascinated to know. Many thanks Peter

Do you mean Nursery Cryme era? I suppose the second was for the echo machine, or for a second mixer, not for backup.

yep echo channel would make sense, and Mike also has two vocal mics. Would have thought signal would go to a desk then a send auxillary for echo. I wondered if it might be to get a stronger double signal or even to exploit different mic or compressor characteristics, Cheers P
