When I was first invited I said I couldn't make it cause I have agoraphobia - I finally got to the Doctor's yesterday, but before then I've only been out 2 times since the end of February. So I get the nicest email back from him (some guys connected to my deep dark mysterious past lol). The party is about 75 miles south of my town. Here's his sweet email - (you just never know when someone is super nice to you). Really lifted my spirits. I said I'd think about it, but only if I could bring my daughter. Riddle me this Spiderwoman... Tough times never last, tough people do. Hey Sinbad! I’m sorry for being a nuisance. Okay, so I’m not sorry. Busted! But I am the type, who doesn’t like to quit too early. It’s a character flaw. What can I say? I can’t really say anything about your condition, other than I too, sort of suffer from it, but from the opposite end. In my case, I found great support from my family and friends. So here’s my proposal. Let me be your friend. That way, I can help, support and/or just be a bloody pain, where the sun doesn’t shine. Next. How about we come by and pick you up? This way I can hold your hand, or cover your eyes. The eye covering is probably your best bet. You haven’t seen Michael drive yet? Yikes! Failing that, you could wear dark glasses, blindfold or a blast shield, or any other item that you are comfortable with. As I mentioned before, I know you don’t know us. I have warned you before, an will warn you again. We’re a bunch of weird nuts! Make that, wingnuts. Of course, there will also be lots of alcohol to help one forget too. If drinking and being stupid isn’t your cup of brandy, then maybe this little cat burning bonfire, isn’t for you. But what the hey. What’s life if one can’t laugh?

One thing I should add about Gavin - he's blind, but it doesn't slow him down - what a nice guy

I can't remember the last time I went to a party - I remember a little get together with my friend Tina in '79 - (New Year's Eve) and we were singing YMCA by the Village People - and doing the letters with our arms over our heads - lol what a sight - Tina was a little disco queen in her red cowboy and one time I was doing a liquid diet and my friends took me out to the disco where I broke the fast by eating a lot and drinking a lot of tequila Lets just say Dave called it "Disco Puke" after that unfortunate evening Anywho, I'm going to the party with my daughter - haven't been to Victoria in years

update: not going, chicken feathers flying - Leesh doesn't want to go either, don't want to go over the Malahat with ice and slush on the road. That area is a death trap. A couple of months ago three former co-workers (she changed jobs) of my daughter were killed in a horrific car crash on the Malahat - three young women, the young daughter of the oldest killed was in the car, survived and the boyfriend of one of the girls was in a coma for a while has come out of it. They were on their way to Victoria for one of the girls to meet her boyfriends parents, tragic. Leesh used to get rides home in that car - scary, everyone has been shaken by this - Alysia and Jeanette (who worked longer with them) didn't go to the funeral, too shaken, and the media was interviewing people there. Rest in peace girls

Garvin and his friend (driver) Michael will be stopping by our place, for home made shortbread cookies, on their way down to Victoria - but if the weather turns bad they will probably go straight to Victoria (by ferry) from Vancouver. Going over the Malahat is too dangerous. Alysia is put out cause we'll have to clean the apartment, not that Garvin cares - but Michael can see - lol
