THE EXTERNAL SAVIOR
By Joe La Bianca
There are many beliefs. One of them says that to want a savior from an external source is wrong. It says that all you need is inside of you. This is the ultimate denial of Jesus. This is why the gospel of Jesus is so offensive to many eastern religions. When a Christian says that Jesus is the external Savior, those poor deceived people who think they are good attack that Christian. Everyone that believes they are their own saviors can never have Jesus as Savior. So understand this, you are unsaved and condemned without admitting your need for Jesus Christ. You are deceived by human philosophy that doesn?t depend on the cross of Jesus. Here is what the Bible says about the condition of your heart. ?The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it,? Jeremiah 17:9. Those who believe that their heart is not wicked and deceitful have themselves been deceived. If you are reading this and are angry at me, you are deceived. If you say that you are good in your heart, you are telling Jesus, ? Don?t save me. Pass me by, Jesus. I?ll take my chances on judgment day?. The only way to a pure heart is in admitting your utter sinfulness. This confession, along with faith in Jesus, will cause Christ to save you and give you a pure heart. Jesus didn?t come to help those who think they are good. He only helps those who are truthful, and confess they are bad. Once Jesus is called upon by the contrite person, salvation happens. Romans 1:21 says, ?Because when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.? God sent His only Son to die for you. You know this, but you do not agree that this is true. You do not glorify God for sending His Son. So your mind is feeble and vain. Your foolish heart is darkened, not enlightened. This is your punishment for your rejection of Jesus. You will leave this blog and continue in your foolishness. But if you can find it in your heart to believe in the cross of Jesus, if you can admit your sin and need for Christ, you can go your way in complete forgiveness. Which will it be, self delusion or the truth of Jesus? Will you glorify God for giving Jesus, or deny Him with your vain beliefs? Time will tell, then eternity will give the details!

Maybe you should finally take a closer look at eastern wisdom and not pick out parts, that you don't even interpret the right way??

Joe is right. I have long been a "reluctant believer" Christ is the only way ---
Back on Gabriel --- I wanted to post a request to Peter to consider an annual tour of the "Passion"; I listen to it every Lent and Easter(Holy Week-Triduum). I am a devout Catholic - who loves "Passion", the sound track strikes a nerve - yes I understand the controversy behind the Scorcese film(by Catholics), the book was beautiful(Kazantzakis) - in my opinion - I have some "issues" with the ending - but - who can say(save our Lord and God) whether Christ - did not exeperience these feelings?
Peter - I think a tour - each easter season of the Passion would do wonders for World peace.
Amen brother.
