A debate/argument that will rumble on forever.
People will kill for, and be killed as a result of it.
So sad a set of guidelines to help people live decent lives without causing mayhem can be twisted into reasons why I am better than you sinners.
When people say religion does more harm than good, I am inclined to agree with them, especially when you see people go over the top.
There is more to life.

Exactly, and as an artist one tends to go visual or audio, or to quote Peter "I speak in pictures, not in words", others dance it etc.
And on that level there is no sin, only inspiration.

We had many overtly fanatics like Joey here before, btw. . .they all did not really listen to Peter (in fact, downright ignored that, incl. WOMAD).
Particularly not to the last years.
Its a shame somehow, since Peter tried so hard. . .

Well said Sesmo. . .another similar point of view we both share!

One can go on and on and get very philosophical about the subject. . .but in my humble opinion. . .it's better not to!

Aparently there is nothing more to life than writing copious amounts of drivell on the subject.
With each thread only minits, nae seconds apart. A bit like taking a breath, then out with more of it.
All one sided, all confrontational.
I find this sort of stuff really puts me off any thoughts of religion.
Not the best advert FOR it, more like a reason why NOT to get involved with it too much.
Depending on weather or not you can stay level headed about things.
This cyber bunny is hopping off to get some drivel blocking ear defenders, Im starting to get allergic to it.
And its not even easter yet!

Good point. :-]
The thing I find earth shatteringly off putting are the endless amount of quotes from other people/ sources.
What does the self, actually believe, without two pages full of quotes? It should be easier than that.
Or maybe there is no place for the self, just quotes??
When I make my own mind up about something after evaluating all the info, I can generally use my own words to describe the why's and wherefores. Without having to quote reams of blurb.
But as has been mentioned before, some folks feel like they have to force their beliefs on others.
What an existance! IMHO truly lacking in respect for others.
This is how it is and thats that . . . well I dont think so.
You can't indoctrinate this luny.
Live and let live.
