PETER AND I HAVE WRITTEN BACK AND FORTH SINCE AROUND OCTOBER 1987 WITH REGARDS TO CREATING A SONGBOOK THAT I WOULD TAKE PART IN BY TRANSCRIBING HIS MATERIAL FOR HIM, WHICH WOULD CONTAIN SOME OR ALL OF HIS MUSIC. INITIALLY HE WAS INTERESTED AND WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE SAMPLES I SENT HIM, BUT AS TIME WENT ON HE BEGAN HIS WORK ON PASSION AS WELL AS AMNESTY AND OTHER PROJECTS. AS TIME PASSED I CONTACTED HIS OFFICE EVERY FEW YEARS TO RE-IGNITE THE POSSIBILITY OF CREATING A SONGBOOK BUT PETER HAS YET TO COMMIT TO THE PROJECT. I FEEL IF YOU, HIS FANS WERE TO POSSIBLY COMMENT ON THIS FORUM IN A POSITIVE WAY HE WOULD DELINEATE HIS INTEREST AND POSSIBLY MARK IT ON HIS CALENDAR. I THINK I SPEAK FOR ALL OF US WHEN I SAY THAT WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE PETER'S BODY OF WORK IN BOOK FORM OR POSSIBLY EVEN A MODERN TWIST SUCH AS A DVD OR EVEN AN INTERACTIVE SONGBOOK. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANTICIPATED SUPPORT. JAMES CANGIALOSI WITNESSTREELTD@FRONTIERNET.NET

Sorry, but he himself probably never even looks into this place, but a songbook for sure is a very valuable project indeed - since there are also quite some requests in that direction. What exactly is it, that you want him to commit, btw.? He may well be of help, for example in terms of citings, as I know. Just don't expect too much time left for him, and the writer/organiser is you after all, isn't it? What exactly stops you from just doing it and then sending the already finished pages for addings or comments? As for Archive material etc., you probably could always go via Tina, btw. See Tina's Fan Attic on the upper right. Best wishes and just DO it. . .

And what was his answer?
JIMWITNESS 17 October 2008 at 1:46am Posts: 5 (0 today) Status: offline
HIS ANSWER WAS THAT HE HAD BEEN PLANNING A SONGBOOK FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS BUT NEVER MADE THE TIME TO GET AROUND TO IT (THAT WAS BACK IN 1987) SYNNIE!!!!

Ahh, you mustn't scream, I haven't done anything to you. . .maybe you screamed at him too, in which case he usually simply stays silent and stops the line. . . You must know. Sorry for having answered at all.

There exist computer software that will transcribe audio into written music and tablature. I am sure Peter has this stuff on hand. With this software he could create a songbook containing written music for every instrument used on his albums or a general songbook containing the melody and major progressions. Not trying to be a jerk, but I am not sure why he would need anyone not already at Real World to accomplish this.

One suggestion I may have is to allow Hal-Leonard to transcribe the sheetmusic since that is what they have done for many artists. They transcribe piano/vocal/guitar and also transcibe guitar tablature and bass tablature. Here are my suggestions of what the songbook should contain Sledgehammer Shock The Monkey Solsburry Hill Here Comes the Flood In Your Eyes Big Time Steam Diggin in the Dirt Don't Give Up Blood of Eden Red Rain Father, Son Washing of the Water Biko Shaking The Tree Games Without Frontiers Come Talk To Me Kiss That Frog (from Secret World Live) Secret World More Than This
