I found this auction on Ebay. I am not sure if the seller should ba able to claim it is an "original" work of art since it is pretty much copying the cover of PG III.

I suppose it is "original" in as far as being her own work in oil rather than an edited polaroid as was the original.
There are subtle differences from the album cover as the stripes on the shirt are horizontal rather than vertical and the degree of distortion is greater on Tracy's version I think.
I wonder what Peter would think? :-]

Not a good idea, though, the painter could in fact run into problems, if the claim is original "of" the cover. . .for sure with the maker of the cover, if he would know about this (copyright laws).
On the other hand, everyone can copy, what he/she wishes, but sell it for what it is, as long as no one bothers.
