This is the artist whose work features in Lovetown - all the dots and repetitions. Anyhow she has a show at the Tate Modern, London from 9 Feb to 5 June. I'm going to do my best to get there! http://www.tate.org.uk/modern/exhibitions/yayoikusama/

Kusama - not Ksuma!

sounds very interesting, Duddy. I was always interested in the work of artists, who worked with Peter. I recommend to click on "google images: Yayoi Kusama".. . .interesting style. Yayoi Kusama is a female artists from Japan. She was one of the 11 artists Peter had asked to create some art for Gabriel`s album "US" (1992). The work of 10 artists out of eleven can be found in the "US"-booklet. Yayoi created a silver window box with snake-like forms (sorry for my description in English) with the title "US - the return to eternity", which was later on used as a cover for the "Lovetown"-single. The idea for the background of the "US"-album with Peter and the woman grew out of this piece of art by Yayoi. Yayoi also worked on the "Lovetown"-clip in 1994, as mentioned by Duddy above - everything animated inside of this clip is based on art work by Yayoi. She was also one of the 4 artists, who worked with Peter on the "EvE"-CD-ROM (1996). The first of 4 worlds ("the world of mud" feat. "Come Talk To Me", a kind of interactive songbook) features LOADS of art work by Yayoi Kusama. She can also be seen in that interactive piece of art. Thanks to Peter Gabriel for introducing his fans to such wonderful and original artists.

This girl is around 82 and is fresh like ever! So, no fear to have halluzinations, when it leads to this: http://www.yayoi-kusama.jp/e/information/index.html and: http://www.google.com/search?q=Yayoi+Kusama&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=6C4&rls=org.mozilla:de src="/_global/images/icons/smiley-eek.png" />fficial&prmd=imvnsol&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=U-8CT_DWNo_dsgakkdwM&ved=0CFUQsAQ&biw=1024&bih=476 Where have our polka dots gone?

Love her work - when I was at college I used to regularly borrow books about her. Glad to meet some fellow admirers! She'd definitely approve of our blobs I think, she has such an obsessive perfectionist approach and as you say Rise, she is still going strong.

I found some videos of Eve on You Tube. Here is part 3 with I think art work of Yayoi Kusama (and polka dots) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUDXjx4hijU&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL What a joy watching these vids! Would be a greater pleasure to play Eve again, but these vids are marvelous! I'd love to go to the Tate Modern - maybe...

Guardian article on Kusama's show - a wonderful photo included. She's 82 years old and her work still males your eyes pop! (and head) http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2012/feb/07/yayoi-kusama-tate-modern-damien-hirst
