So today i realized in perfect clarity how perfect Peter's song- Whole Thing is. It is classic Peter Gabriel and I have come to see it is my all time favorite Peter Gabriel song.
Whole Thing has everything in it I love about Peter and his music.
Especially those heart-wrenching, spirit soaring vocals.
And that edgy screechy sound that pierces the center of my middle three chakras. It is pure and depending on my moment, brings me to laughter and joy and sadness and sorrow.
And I dance and dance and dance, even if being quietly still.
It took Peter how many years to perfect this song? I don't know for sure but I chose this as the one song from Peters library that I would bring with me for eternity on that desert island.
What would be your choice?

Biko
Eventually someone might hear my singing and come rescue me, but then they would get caught up in the Big Chant and next thing ya know we're sipping out of one another's coconut shells again.

Whole Thing and San Jacinto are both very good choices.
For me, I think "Washing of the Water".
At least for today? :-]

Still Mercy Street.
But it's so difficult to choose.
San Jacinto is a perfect song too.

Has to be In Your Eyes for me. I really don't enjoy SO very much, but this gem is without a doubt his finest.

Also "Signal to Noise" - a song that has the possibility to open inner worlds.
