The So box set made me feel exactly like the first time Red Rain boomed out of my parents' living room stereo. Kudos to the team that came up with the idea for the So DNA disc and then pieced together all the demos. It's absolutely brilliant hearing the grooves & lyrics taking shape to 9 tracks that I have listened to over and over for 25 yrs (Youssou N'Dour's vocals on That Voice Again were a nice surprise). So Live captures the last stop on a world tour with the band playing at the top of their game. The 3 bonus tracks are outstanding (actually prefer the gospel tinged alt version of Don't Give Up to the final version on So). And I spent a night reading the book. Don't miss the b-sides because they're easily found (which fans don't already have these) and the world does not need a return of the 1980s dance mix versions of Sledgehammer and Big Time. Combine this experience with the Toronto concert stop and it's been a very, very good year for this Peter Gabriel fan.
Cheers,
