Hi, I was wondering if anyone has ever seen a transcription of lyrics for this song, pre-Indigo, from the '77 tour? A Google search came up with nothing. I realise he didn't sing the exact same thing every night and that sometimes there were nonsense words mixed in, but was hoping someone might have tried to puzzle out a best guess at the lyrics. Thank you very much.

i have not seen a transcription, but maybe we can make it a collective effort. i won't be much help, because i routinely fall into the "misheard lyrics" crowd. this one is from the cleveland show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXn8leIWpzo song without word (1977) "unknown (?), running me down tonight..." please feel to add or revise.

That sounds like an idea. I'll give a couple of the vids a listen, but like you, I'm not the best at making out the words. Thanks.

. . .i leave that analyze process to the native English speakers. the "collective effort" idea is a great idea. (i always thought he starts with "my Lord" instead of "unknown" - from my bootlegs - just thinking loud here
