Well as much as I love PG that has to be one of the worst covers of any Beatles song I've ever heard

All the reason why I do not like cover songs . . . by anyone, of anyone. Not only is Strawberry Fields not great, I'd have to say the Philadelphia (Neil Young) runs a really close second to it. I've only listened to that one twice -- once was the first time and the second time was to be sure I actually heard it correctly!
So, here I go again . . . SMB was my least favorite PG cd, don't ever listen to it and the only song worth listening to is Book of Love and possibly Flume.

Scratch My Back is the most ambitious work of PG maybe since Passion.
Listen to it, take time, read the lyrics, listen again, stay silent, feel.

The CD SMB took me awhile to get into, but after seeing it performed was amazing, a very moving experience. The New Blood concerts really displayed the power of Peters musical talents. It immeditaley reminded me of the early Genesis LPs, and i started listening to those again, sounded so great. Its the sound and vocals that are highlighted, pure.
Just saw him in Philly last week, and i have to say, he was tremendous as always, with his band in fine shape. The sound was like High Definition, the cleanest and clearest i have ever heard. They cranked, and the mellow parts were familar and peaceful. GREAT tour.
