Is it me or is it a bit odd that the audio on this CD is exactly the same as the DVD/Blu-ray, to the point where we hear a few minutes of The Tower That Ate People at the very end (it runs under the credits on the DVD). It's a bit jarring after The Nest That Sailed the Sky and seems kinda strange out of context. A fade would have done the job! Still, it's a small quibble and I, for one, am glad this CD exists - I was at one of the Hammersmith shows so it gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling to know that I was there, and the recording of that show is now part of Peter's catalogue (with another great cover too). And it's miles better than Secret World Live which is just rubbish - a low point in Peter's catalogue if you ask me. I love Us, I like the concert film and there are some great bootlegs from that tour but the album is polished within an inch of its life and Paula Cole is, well, let's just say not to my taste! It's the most tasteful and middle-of-the-road sounding Peter has ever been and that's not a good thing. Right, is it time to get the Son of OVO petition going now that Scratch My Back/New Blood/Live Blood is pretty much wrapped up? I reckon an Olympics tie-in would be reason enough - OVO featured various styles of music from a multi-cultural Britain so what better excuse than the Olympics to dust it off and release the 'songwriter version' with PG singing. Go on Real World, I'd be happy with a download...

I don't want to be seen as a moaner about PG stuff as I am a mega fan but that is the problem with this release and the single disc in the previous box set. It very easy to make an digital or even analogue version and then a audio cd/mp3 from a music dvd so it is not really anything new. The 2nd cd in the box set could have been the 2nd bonus new blood cd with other stuff added. For this release they could have done an encore style release with the chatter and retakes as Peter has even mentioned before that fans love those ones with a special moment on so he tries to do at least one per show. Also we could have the audio from night 2 as a bonus download. I just wish sometimes we could have even more stuff or just stuff we haven't already got I suppose. In regards to Son of OVO lets hope that is on the list somewhere, the only one track i have is on youtube 'Make Tomorrow PG version ' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4Vfpwq6ntI I am sure they could just sell a load of his stuff digitally to his fan base or even give it away If that is ever the case please upload the footage from the realworld gig in 03. I could make a full list but it would be long.....

I am one of those who have always hoped "Son Of Ovo" with Peter vocals would see the light of day.

Another vote for Son of Ovo! I love the Ovo album, preferably the version with The Tree That Went Up.

I'm with you AgentSage - I've tried to blank The Story of OVO from my memory! If (no, let's say WHEN) Son of OVO is released, I'll be very happy if that track is forgotten about! Low Light is a lovely start to the record. It is frustrating that Son of OVO exists, sitting on a hard drive somewhere. I'm not sure why PG won't put it out - I know there's been a lot of stuff recently by his standards (two studio albums, live album, DVD etc.) but it's not as if there's always PG product flooding the market. I can see why it might be confusing to the casual PG fan who might think it's his 'new' album, which is why I'd be happy if it was only available via this site or as a download only. Go on, surprise us Real World - make it happen!

Totally agree about the odd ending. Future pressings should omit it (Real World take note) I mean, the beginning bit works as a scene-setter, but to follow the gentle and subtle Nest with Tower is bizarre in the extreme and surely must be a mistake...? It's not even a separate track so you can't simply program it out. It smacks of poor editing /quality control. Oh well. The rest of the album is fantastic and ive found I generally listening to it than New Blood itself. There's more energy in the tracks and of course a wider selection of songs.
