. . . seems that \PG has been working on some expensive "stuff". . . we need cheap stuff. Can't he just bash something out for us on a Casio?

A darn shame it all boils down to it's a rich mans world nowadays, Well this is one PG thingy official ? that has priced outta being on my shelf.
If anybody finds some link please PM/email me. I don't normally bother with copies of official unless it's a stopgap in buying. But in this instance, even if the miracle of me winning the lottery came up, There is not a hope in hell of me buying this.

This is great. Right up my street. It reminds me of the slowed down, 'ambient' versions that Fovea Hex released alongside their initial EPs using elements of the original tracks. And a bit of the soundtrack work of Eno's pal Jon Hopkins (from the film Monsters).
It's obvious from the titles but Topping The Mountain is San Jacinto, Slow Blooded is Blood of Eden, Deep Heat is Rhythm of the Heat and Warm And Alive is In Your Eyes (I think?). This won't be for everyone and is basically the lads mucking around in the studio but it is the most 'experimental' thing PG has done in ages. But totally accessible in the way that ambient music should be ('as interesting as it is ignorable' as Eno would say). It's like a warm bath.
On the one hand PG has just released a 45 minute ambient album! On the other I can see why they've given it to this pricey magazine as a special one-off. It's probably not as 'worked on' as PG would normally like and it's probably too 'out there' for some fans who would be confused if they thought this was his next album.
I'm happy. This has been a good couple of years for releases - two studio albums, a live album, an album of instrumentals, a concert film and now this (let's call it) ambient album. Deep Heat stood out as the highlight (some PG singing is audible).
The one complaint? Oh yeah. The obvious one. €125? Ridiculous.

It should be available as a £5 download from the Womad shop.

They should pay more than that to download that stuff.

Would also love the chance to pay for a download off this -- even if it ends up not being up my alley, I'll always check out new PG. Since it seems there isn't that option just yet, I'd love a link from a fellow fan so I can download it (with the pledge that I'll pay a non-exorbitant price whenever it becomes available). Email is rael1967 at hotmail.com.
Thanks!

er...
http://www.lunapendium.com, never hear of Mr. "Lund"

I didn't want to screw Matador by making it downloadable on Lumapendium (though with their pricing, they don't seem to mind doing the screwing). I try to be careful not to make commercially available tracks downloadable.
Think of Lunapendium as the non-profit research library for my Moon Club friends.

Ok, that might cost me a reputation of a yea-sayer, but... I find it a fascinating piece of music. I don't really know how to put it in words, but...
It feels like healing.
Just without the aftertaste (of things which heals).
It feels like connecting with the world. (Remember when you were in love?).
Yes, that's the right track, and maybe this next one would be closer, if you excuse the tautology:
It feels like feeling - immensely.
Is it just me?
(ps: Thanks Lunapendium !)
