Yes, I know he already scratched some backs, but if he ever was to tackle another artists song, what or which artist would you like him to cover?
For me, one song I would like to hear him do would be:
Marc Cohn's "Walking in Memphis".
I really love the way this song is done, but for some reason I can hear Peter's voice and picture him on the keyboard/piano.

I'm going to stick to this song til the end of my days:
"Creuza de Ma" by (the late) Fabrizio De Andre'.
Genoa's best.
Amazing PFM violinist Mauro Pagani co-wrote that, and I know that he knows PG.
Also, there is a SMB-like international project concerning Fabrizio's songs.
One can only hope.

. . . .and Gabriel is also the favourite Artist of Mauro Pagani
. .. yes, it would be a really fantastic cover, poetry of De Andre' with poetry and depth of Gabriel. .. .

I would love to hear him do "whats going on" or any Marvin Gaye song.
I know its not good to go back, and Peter won't want to, but a re-working of a Genesis track would be interesting. Maybe not one of his - like ripples?

That would be a cool song, Matt.

Doobie Grey - Drift Away
Tori Amos - Icicle
Wilson Picket - if you need me.

both of Matt's sound appealing. I know he did I Heard it Thru the Grapevine and The Lamb/Back in NYC on early tours, I have downloaded copies of the first two.
As for me, in the vein of him coving modern Indie-folk (Bon Iver) I popose a songby my favorite new band whih is similar but less know, the Head and the Heart. Ghosts by them would be interesting, perhaps even in a depressing mood a la SMB

A nice quiet acoustic song by Metallica, almost Irish ballad-like -
Low Man's Lyric
