They're 50% off currently and I'm looking to pick up one that is especially stellar from the European tour - anyone have a recommendation? THANK YOU! Here's the link, btw: http://www.themusic.com/search.cfm?encore=67&sidebar=encore_list&keyword=European%20CD:

brescia is pretty good. But I personally like to listen to Blickling Hall. Beware it's a slightly shorter set tho, and there's no Melanie, but it's a spirited performance. Signal, Fam Snapshot, Lovetown, No Self Control and more, all fantastic...

OoH, two of my favorite songs "Lovetown" and "No self control", seems like a no brainer for me to get this "Blickling Hall" then! Does it have "Burn you up, burn you down"? I am a fan of off the normal beaten path songs, lol.

Darcy, "Burn You Up" was played in 2004 during the "Still Growing Up"-tour in Europe. A good live version can be heard (and viewed) on the official "Still Growing Up - Live and Unwrapped"-DVD. the show in Mainz / Germany in 2007 was a great show (because i was there lol ) The WOMAD show 2007 must have been very special - with a lot of great guest musicians and great vocal performance by PG and a rockin` PG-Band. The 2 GELSENKIRCHEN-shows in 2007 feature a lot of tracks, which were not played on other gigs - for example "Indigo". The 2007 "Warm Up"-tour was special, as it featured a lot of tracks from Peter`s first 4 solo-albums, but also an excellent and extended "Lovetown" for example. During the show you felt like stepping into a time machine with music from the early PG-years - that was impressive good tour, good music

I've dug up this old thread because I got an email from the encore series saying that some PG shows have been reduced in price, the 2007 tour being included. I just ordered Gelsenkirchen 14 June 2007 show and wondered if anyone could tell me what it is like. The main reason for ordering it was this run of songs: Washing Of The Water Blood Of Eden We Do What We’re Told (Milgram’s 37) I Don’t Remember No Self Control Moribund The Bergermeister Family Snapshot Not One Of Us Mother Of Violence I Grieve It's a fantastic set overall and the inclusion of I Grieve (one of my personal favourites that I'd love to hear live) was what eventually forced me to order it. And overall it has come to around £12 (not bad at all ). Anyone know what the show is like? I eagerly anticipate its (eventual) arrival!

Well, it was the first show of the tour. Therefore all members of the band inculdig PG himself are exited and a bit nervous. Some things are running very well, some not. But all in all the show ist good - and the songs he played only this time are fine, too. I have been there and I own the Encore. my brother was on the second show in Gelsenkirchen. It seems that there the usual "second-show-fault" happend. The band made mistake after mistake - pg was unconcentrated - many fuck ups.
