I really like your choices here. "Houston, we do NOT have a problem" with this list at 'tal. Cheers and Beers, Darcy

Yeah, I was able to cheat a bit with New Blood and get at least some version of a couple classics on there. I figure that B-Sides and live tracks belong more in a box set than a best of album.

I actually kinda like B - side tracks. Most folks assume that because a tune is on the B side, it is not good. It has been my experience that for me the opposite is true and often some real Gems are to be found.

Quiet Steam anyone?

I really like a lot of B-sides too (Nocturnals and Lovetown in particular). I wasn't making a judgment on their quality. I think that a hits album is aimed at a more casual or new fan, that's not going to appreciate a b side as much as those of us that have replaced our copy of Passion three times.

Welcome back OOU!

Well. . . welcome to this dark forgotten cobwebbed crevice of what used to be a interesting part of the forum. . . great track list - and Lovetown is a real favourite, but just wondering what's special about the Blickling version? (I've not heard it). . .
One of Us 25 May 2012 at 10:18pm Posts: 266 (0 today) Status: offline
Thanks Me Beef! Well...Lovetown... It's a great version, I was there at Blickling. It was sooo good, after he said thank you, I spontaneously shouted "Thank YOU Peter" and he replied "if I knew YOUR name, I'd use it right now..." So that version holds a special place for me, but the original is great too!
Mr Beef 26 May 2012 at 8:28am Posts: 761 (0 today) Status: offline
. . . Wow! One of Us that's a special reason to include the Blickling version! I think the most interesting version of the song I have is a very early live performance, from the Secret World Tour in Stockholm on 13 April 1993...
One of Us 26 May 2012 at 10:42am Posts: 266 (0 today) Status: offline
Nice! I'd like to hear that one

. . . lack of PMs make this more tricky - do you have an email you don't mind posting here?
