OK... imagine Real World has contacted you as an enthusiastic user of these forums and asked you to compile a 22 track ultimate PG compilation album for Christmas release and replace Shaking the Tree and HIT forever. PG will endorse whatever you recommend and you will be credited on the album. The good news is that tracks can be culled from any authorised PG release (including audio from official DVDs), except Encore Series. Unfortunately it must be only one CD and it must contain EXACTLY 23 tracks (none of this "I couldn't choose 23 so I've listed 50 tracks" nonsense, the CD mastering studios are awaiting your list!) So, I beseech thee....submit your running order...

Confusingly I put 22 and 23 above. The challenge is 23 tracks! (ps. when are we going to get editing options on these forums??) Anyway, over to you compilers.

Hey very nice compilation AaronAKAAtrus! I'd buy that Now I have some time, here's my stab... 1. Here Comes The Flood (Growing Up live DvD) 2.Red Rain (So) 3. Humdrum (Car) 4. No Self Control (Melt) 5. San Jacinto (New Blood) 6. Secret World (SWL) 7. Love To Be Loved (US) 8. Shaking The Tree (SWL) 9. Family Snapshot (Melt) 10. DIY (plays live) 11. White Shadow (Scratch) 12. Intruder (New Blood) 13. Sky Blue (UP) 14. Mother of Violence (Scratch) 15. Solsbury Hill (Car) 16. Signal to Noise (Live Blood bonus cd) 17. Washing of the Water (US) 18. No Way Out (UP) 19. Mercy Street (So) 20. In Your Eyes (SWL) 21. Wallflower (New blood) 22. Biko (Melt) 23. Blood of Eden (New Blood bonus track) Wow, that was tough! It's surprising to look at this how much live stuff I've chosen ... more than I'd expected from Scratch and New Blood. Cant believe there's no Rhythm of the Heat etc etc.

23 tracks is insanely tough, which is the point really. Takes a lot of thought. Im sure we could all do a new list everyday! ...I wondered if people would go for hits or for breadth or something else. I think you went went for breadth, in terms of albums covered for sure The tracks are only half of it, the running order is important too (and very important to PG as we know!). I think it might burn my list as a CD and see how it plays in the car
One of Us 10 November 2011 at 4:09pm Posts: 266 (0 today) Status: offline
By the way, i think we only have four tracks (versions of tracks) in common! Amazing really.

Great thread OOU! Let let some of the STEAM out of my head and think about this of a bit and eventually you shall have my list. By that I do mean within a few days, not years as in PG record time. Could not resist, sorry. LOL

Ha ha, sure thing SR, it takes some thinking about! ...that goes for ANY new PG album
Soul Reader 11 November 2011 at 5:07pm Posts: 3479 (0 today) Status: offline
Understood! No big hurry on the new PG record, I've got lots of time left. I'm only forty, figure that gives me about 40-50 years. SOMETHING should happen by then, right?
