I also share your point of view Cimber about Secret World Live. If you listen to other live recordings from this tour (and specially the second leg of the tour with Paula Cole on vocals and Jean Claude Naimro on keys) you will be surprised that some arrangements were worked again in the studio for SWL. Certainly because PG is such a perfectionnist. But in this case, i can't feel the magic that made this tour so unique. For me it's too polished. Peter recorded the last Paris show in November 1993 for a possible live CD. It should have made an incredible 2CD because he played nearly for 3 hours and included an amazing version of "family snapshot" and "only us". I was so disappointed when SWL was finally released because there was some free space on CD2 that was not used.

Family Snapshot? That would have been great.

Hello Evoulini As far as i know, The Family And The Fishing Net was not played during the SWL tour.

I think Eva is saying it's one of her least favorites. Different strokes, it's one of my most favorites

Oh, sorry for the confusion. The Family And The fishing net is still better than Kiss Of Life! For me the worst of the worst is "out out" that was used for the soundtrack of Greemlins.

Hi Sammy, Jen! Yeah, this song is of my least favourites. Sammy, come on, Kiss Of Life is quite strange, but sweet. :-]

Eve, I'm very sorry to say that I now officially hate you. :-]

Ooops, I forgot you like that song, Caste! :-] Ok, it's not my least favourite, it's just not one of my favourites. Better?
Caste,2°class PGfan 22 July 2011 at 9:48pm Posts: 1162 (0 today) Status: offline
No. It's my absolute fave. That makes you a Collinshead in my book. Again, I'm sorry. :-]

Family And The Fishing net? I think it's mighty cool. I think Kiss Of Life, unlike most of PG songs sounds very dated.

Then, Caste, I can't do nothing about it, sorry. A Collinshead? That doesn't sound so bad to me, I'm a fan of Collins too. :-]

Me too: great drummer and backing vocalist.

Since I first played PG4, about 25 years ago, I think I played Kiss of Life twice - the first time was the inevitable consequence of having a new album, and the second was just to confirm that it really was that bad. That song just makes me feel almost physically sick. I would put it up ther with Bill Withers' "Lovely Day". . . Excuse Me! Now there's a song!

The Soil 24 July 2011 at 1:46am Posts: 1894 (0 today) Status: offline
*P.S.: I don't hate The Barry Williams Show for its irrelevant lyrics, but because of how it sounds. I don't care for that song. Same goes for Burn You Up, Burn You Down, as I think it sounds pretty similiar. They are both really boring.

Uuuuh I made a mistake, what was I thinking? I LOVE Excuse Me, I was thinking about 1) peter gabriel (1977) - Waiting for the Big One !!! Which is a nice, harmless bluesy tune, but it gets boring really fast. In the words of Mike Rutherford about the song: "Peter can do better than this".

PG1: Slowburn PG2: Exposure PG3: Nothing PG4: Kiss Of Life SO: Big Time US: Kiss That Frog OVO: Nothing (except the rap version at the beginning of the CD) UP: Barry Williams Show SMB: The Boy In The Bubble @ The Soil: I share your feelings about The Barry Williams Show. Very bad in my opinion.
