Assuming you've heard at least one song from each studio album, what are your favorites? Here goes: Car- Solsbury Hill Scratch- Mother of Violence Melt- Games Without Frontiers Security- Shock the Monkey So- In Your Eyes Us- Blood of Eden Up- Not sure. More than This, I'll say. I'm not too fond of up. Scratch My Back- The Power of the Heart

Nice thread Car Tie between Solsbury Hill and Here Comes The Flood Scratch A Wonderful Day In A One-Way World Melt Biko Security This is really tough because this album is one of my favorites. Tie between The Family And The Fishing Net and The Rhythm Of The Heat ( ROTH really rocked at Red Rocks)!! SO Yet another tie, it's too hard to pick just one! Don't Give Up Mercy Street Passion (my all time number one favorite album, not just PG of any artist) 4 way tie The Feeling Begins, Passion, With This Love, It Is Accomplished US Blood Of Eden UP Another hard one as I really love this album too I love every song on this but I can narrow it down to 5 Darkness, Sky Blue, I Grieve, My Head Feels Like That, Signal To Noise Scratch My Back I ADORE FLUME!

Moribund and White Shadow are also good. It was sad that II was such a flunk. And she comes out, like a white shadow.

1 - Solsbury Hill 2 - Mother of Violence 3 - Family Snapshot (but then again I love I Don't Remember) 4 - San Jacinto (this was so hard!!! On another note this should have started the album with Rhythm being second, just saying :-] ) So - I don't really have a favourite from this album it changes all the time. Its not even my favourite but I rarely listen to individual tracks, I prefer to listen to the album as whole Us - Come Talk To Me (but then again i love Secret World and Love to be Loved!) Up - I Grieve/The Drop/Signal To Noise Scratch My Back - The Power of The Heart Great thread by the way :-]

Ahh, now for a hard choice. P.G. 1 - Here Comes The Flood (Although I do prefer PG's later perfomances of it, I can't seem to ever get enough of this song in any of the incarnations.) P.G. 2 - Mother of Violence P.G. 3 - Biko. But since the album as a whole is extremely precious to me, so is each and every song. Intruder, I Don't Remember and No Self Control resonate particularly strongly. P.G. 4 - San Jacinto So - Mercy Street Us - Washing Of The Water Up - My Head Sounds Like That. But so many songs to contend with that: Darkness, Signal to Noise, The Drop. Scratch My Back - The Boy in the Bubble. But My Body is a Cage is impossible to resist as well.

Oooo this looks like fun! My turn! This is tough: First album: The Flood (NOTE: PG has said Flood and Supper's Ready are his best writing accomplishments). Second album: On the Air Third album: Family Snapshot Fourth album: Wallflower Birdy: The Heat So: Red Rain Passion: It is Accomplished Us: Digging in the Dirt OVO: Downside-Up (I love Make Tomorrow, but I prefer the Son of OVO version). Long Walk Home: Cloudless Up: Signal to Noise SMB: Sorry guys. Altough I will say that his vocal during his performance of Heroes two weeks ago was both fantastic and PASSIONate. HONORARY selction: Curtains2004 (whenever he decides to release I/O!!). Here's an idea for a forum: Explain (in as many words as you want) why these were your selections.

I love this thread! So fun to see what other people choose. Here are mine. P.G. 1 - Solsbury Hill. A difficult choice because I equally love Here Comes The Flood, but seeing Peter's joy at performing Solsbury Hill for this concert . that clenches it. P.G. 2 - On The Air. Released in 1978. Still relevant in 2011. Genius. We have a vintage shortave (Hallicrafters Super Skyrider: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jooley_ann/467758661/in/set-72057594111420391) that we need just one part to refurb. P.G. 3 - Hard to choose one. I love Biko - the song changed my life. Family Snapshot has always been a huge favorite of mine. And I have always LOVED Intruder and was thrilled to see it live on this tour - the orchestration and accompanying video/live feed were perfect. When we watched the sound check in Houston, Ben Foster had to urge the musicians to keep their various tempos random in the intro. So amusing - it's like telling a vocalist to sing off key. ^_^ But the New Blood Orchestra totally came through! P.G. 4 - Impossible. I simply cannot choose one. This is the best album . ever. In the world. From start to finish. Done. So - Mercy Street. I just cried and cried when he played this one in concert. Us - Kiss That Frog. I can't resist the entire mythos, plus who can argue with songs about sex? Makes a nice partner track to Cyndi Lauper's She Bop. ^_^ That said, I was taken away by Secret World on the New Blood tour. I so so so hope they can somehow include it on the upcoming CD. Up - Sky Blue, Darkness, Signal To Noise, and The Barry Williams Show. All for different reasons. Scratch My Back - I fell in love with Book of Love the first time I heard it. But . I think I'd rank Waterloo Sunset first. I can't stop smiling when I hear that song. Reminds me of times in London. And the social v. antisocial aspect is so meaningful to me. Lastly, of course, I can't NOT mention Flume. I didn't know Bon Iver before this album. Flume was amazing with the New Blood Orchestra. Just downloaded (purchased) Bon Iver's new release, and it's terrific. -Jules

tricky but.here goes. 1. Car "Humdrum" 2. Scratch "Mother of Violence" 3. Melt "Family Snapshot" 4. Security "The Family and the Fishing Net" 5. Birdy "Slow marimbas" 6. So "Mercy Street" 7. Passion "Of these, hope" 8. Us "Washing of the Water" 9. OVO "Father,Son" 10. Up "Sky Blue" 11. Big Blue Ball "Whole Thing" 11. S.M.B. "My Body is a Cage" 12. New Blood "San Jacinto"?? Looking at my selections I tend to like the slower, brooding stuff then! :-]
