Reading that thread brings me back some years ago. . .
For 35 years I made my first recordings, from vinyl to a (good) Sony tape recorder.
Listened to them 10 years along, well quality decreasing with time, had some Genesis and Peter Gabriel vinyls I had bought too. . . .well at the end making some strange noises too !
When later I listened to the same from CD's, I thought. . what a sound !
Could I get more from that all. . .?
So since 20 years listening CD's, more recently watching DVD's on a (good) Sony Trinitron TV, (still alive!), sound going through Hi-Fi amplifier. . . .
Then now. . . .
Since a few weeks having some new Audio and video material dedicated to home-cinema,
I am really re-discovering some "classical", old Genesis. . .and others of course!
A propos old stuff :
If you can, don't hesitate to buy the CD-DVD Genesis Box set, remastered and in 5.1. . . .
and to come back to the subject, you must know actual CD-DVD players and good
Hi-Fi Amplifiers "upgrade" or "upscale" sound and video. . .
Tested it with the PG live DVD's. . . a step further with that material also. . .
Also great sound for SMB. . .of course waiting for Blue-Ray Dvd version. . . .
Well, why all that?
Perhaps just because I wanted to say that even when you know all that beautiful music
since "long" time, when one day listening to it you hear new sounds and perhaps what was the original recorded version with all the intensity revealed. . . that brings a wonderful emotion. . .
wanted to share that. . . .
