I know some of the maniacs and collectors here got many of these CD-singles already. I think of Duran Duran or Depeche Mode, who released CD-single-boxes in the past with original art-work.
This could be an idea for the future - only a suggestion.
The box would or could contain all the singles as CD-singles from the first 4 PG-solo-albums to the singles from "So", "Us" and "Up" plus the so-called "Secret World Live EP".
Surley there would be also a chance to add different mixes or other demos, studio outtakes, movie-tracks etc.

It's a great idea Cimber and as an avid PG collector, it would be something even more interesting if were included different mixes or other demos and studio outtakes. In fact, i would love a box set full of PG rarities. There must be plenty of unreleased tracks in Real World attics!

. . .great idea. . . but do you think PG will ever do anything like this? Nothing new was added to the remastered albums. . . POV has never been released on DVD. . . Hit was pretty lame . . . whenever anything different is released it's usually incredibly hard / expensive / impossible to find.
PG doesn't exactly go out of his way does he?

at least a nice idea to have singles like "Shock The Monkey", "Don`t Give Up", "In Your Eyes", "Red Rain", "Modern Love", "Games" and other songs also as CD-singles with their original art-work.
Peter Gabriel CD-singles so far:
"Solsbury Hill"
"Sledgehammer"
"Biko" (1987 Live)
"Big Time"
"Digging in the Dirt"
"Steam"
"Blood of Eden"
"Kiss That Frog"
"Secret World Live EP"
"Barry Williams Show"
"Growing Up"
"More Than This"
also as CD-single:
"While The Earth Sleeps"
"Be Still" (Peace together)

It's a lovely idea,but i agree with Mr.Beef

. . .i add that,in my opinion, beauty of a rarity is that it's hard to find it,and only few people have the luck to have it.
For example: my husband has a lot of singles on list by Cimber, and i have to say the artwork are all really fantastic,i never seen them before. . . (But he says that he always bought them each time they were released, today they have become rarities).
. . .and value of a rarity increases because. . . . . there is a person who is rare. . . :

I do have DGU & IYE as CD singles. . . :-]
As to the CDsingle box set: wouldn't it be better to release that goddamned Odds & Sods compilation instead ?

Ingredients: all known B-sides + every song ever appeared on soundtracks or compilation albums + some unknown demos + some completely unreleased tracks to make it palatable to guys like me who have got whole hard drives full of PG stuff.
All remastered.
I'd buy it.

"The Odds and Sods"-compilation is a sweet dream, but it would break all barriers, as there is A LOT OF MATERIAL, that would deserve to find a place on it.
Only an "Odds and Sods" for the "Us"-album would deliver a lot good stuff for example and would also give the listener and fan a better understanding of the final cut album with all those outtakes, demos and pre-recording-version, mixes. . .
Compared to the "Genesis Archives 1967-1975" and "The Genesis Box-Set 1970-1975" there must be at least a number of ten times more material for the PG-solo-years.

Maybe a "deluxe" album setup. Remastered album (again) with 1 to 2 CDs worth of extras from that era.
And ya. Would still like to see POV on DVD or Blu-Ray!
Or something from the current tour.

. . . I hope not Gisabun - I've bought all of PG's albums on vinyl, CD, CD remastered. . . I won't have my arm twisted into buying them yet again - I hate the cynical, endless drip-feed of recycled material in ever more deluxe editions.
