Tony Levin: an exemplary professional man. Instrumentalist fineness of impeccabile style, one of the few in the world able to play the "Chapman Stick". Tony is one of the pilar of the Music of Peter Which songs do you prefer best of the Music of Peter, where you can find his "Special Tony Touch"? My preference: - San Jacinto: He is symple fantastic!! - D.I.Y: his work is wonderful for this song - I dont' Remember: in this song the stick of Tony is great!! - White Shadow:Love his work! - Only Us - great!

"Tony has been a foundation for the band since the first album in 1976. He is an extraordinarily gifted musician. On the first sessions he amazed me with his ability to memorise a song on only one hearing. He contributes wonderful rhythmic grooves as well as sensual and melodic lines on a variety of instruments. I was very pleased that on "Secret World" and "Only Us" there was room to feature his wilder improvisations." (Peter Gabriel about Tony Levin 1993) - "www.tonylevin.com"

excellent topic dolce. to actually feel his bass during a performance of "humdrum" and "on the air" during the "plays live" era is something i'm afraid i will never experience again. my whole body vibrated, and the sound moved through it giving a sensation similar to riding a (sonic) roller coaster. i envisioned that the entire underbelly of the stage was cram packed with subwoofers. well, i really cannot explain it all that well. i hope another lunatic experienced this sensation, and understands what i am trying to describe.

Maybe a story to add to a particular thread that was created for experiences just like that Mozo! I think your explanation is just fine. . .I can almost feel Tony's bass! And weren't you one of the lucky ones to have had that experience during that era!

Yes yes! Couldn't agree more. I love his work too. And apart from being an extraordinary musician he also seems to be a very nice guy. He even answers fan's questions on his facebook. And apart from that, he looks just cool as f**** on stage. I always love to see him, David Rhodes and Peter doing their crazy dances together. I hope Tony never leaves the band. Him and Peter must be really great friends to stick together for sooooo long. Off topic: PG seems to have had troubles with his drummers though, or why did none of the drummers stay in his band? (Marotta, Katché)

Thank you all for your comments It is fantastic to read the words of Peter about Tony!! Mozo,I agree and understand you: sometimes there are not words to describe our emotions. . . . .but you are very lucky to have that expierience!WOW! I agree wih all for Tony because he gives a "warm sound" like "Don't Give Up", for example,or he creates a "strong sound" like "Modern Love" or "sweet and warm sound" like "Blood of Eden" and more. . . . He is very fantastic!! Thank you Duddy for the link, every time i see that performance i moved. . . :-]
