Look, generally I like every period of their music.I'm keen on some of them at times. But the one I like the most and right now is the PG era!I never compare the music they did with Peter with the music they did with Phil because I think they are different. If I was on a desert island I would take the genesis-PG era music so that I would have them both with me!

Second attempt. . . This was my interpretation of MoV. . .my thoughts that got lost in the abyss the other night. . .I jotted this down immediately after losing my post the other night. . .was too tired to re-enter it that night. . . As I've said. . .very difficult to put into words. . .but I'll give it a go. . . MoV evokes fear in oneself in a very subtle way. . .as though something to fear could be lurking around any given corner. . .waiting to pounce at any given moment. . .when one least expects it. . .but also sometimes, when one feels a warranted reason to fear something/anything and for some reason one doesn't heed the warning. . .and before one knows it. . .it's too late to turn back. This is not one's typical fear, but fear deeply, within one's soul, one's being. . .no matter how one tries to escape this fear. . .there's no getting away from it. . .even when consciously trying to get away. . .there's nowhere to go. . .to hide. . .the type of fear that is difficult to pinpoint. . .but one knows it's there. . .the type of fear as though someone/something is following one or watching in the distance, waiting to strike. . .the feeling of vulnerability. . .uncontrollable exposure to fear.

Mozo, someone told me truely there: a real friend is not someone agreeing all the time to what you say or do, but someone able to contradict you sometimes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AwAxBdAjcQ&feature=channel think you can do best. but as I am a very positive person, I would like to make some proposals on the matter later on. i'm not criticising just to criticised, but because I don't "feel" the images for the first time. Lyrics Walking the street with her naked feet So full of rhythm but I cant find the beat Snapping her heels clicking her toes Everybody knows just where she goes Fear, fear - shes the Mother Of Violence Making me tense to watch the way she breed Fear, shes the Mother Of Violence You know self-defense is all you need Its getting hard to breathe Its getting so hard to believe To believe in anything at all Mouth all dry eyes blood shot Data stored in microdot Kicking the cloud with my moccasin shoes T.v. dinner, t.v. news Fear, fear - shes the Mother Of Violence Dont make any sense to watch the way she breed Fear, shes the Mother Of Violence Making me tense to watch the way she feed The only way you know shes there Is the subtle flavour in the air Getting hard to breathe Hard to believe in anything at all But fear Marchant dans la rue avec ses pieds nus à pas rythmés, mais je ne peux pas trouver le battement Claquant ses talons en un cliquetis de doigt de pied Tout le monde sait exactement où elle va La peur, la peur ? est mère de violence me laissant crispé de voir la façon dont elle renait La peur, est mère de violence Vous savez que l'auto-défense est tout ce dont vous avez besoin il devient difficile de respirer il devient si difficile de croire De croire en quoi que ce soit Bouche asséchée, lançant des regards meurtriers, yeux injectés toutes données stockées dans micropoint je shoot dans les nuages avec mes mocassins diner T.V, nouvelles télévisées La peur, la peur - est mère de violence inutile de regarder la façon dont elle se reproduit La peur, est mère de Violence me laissant crispé de voir la façon dont elle se nourrit vous ne pouvez reconnaître sa présence qu'à la saveur subtile qui plane dans l'air il devient difficile de respirer il devient si difficile de croire en quoi que ce soit sauf en la peur first, fear is a very useful feeling in our evolution. It acts mostly to prepare us physicaly to flee, in order to survive and is one psychological warning to the fact that we're reaching some limits, were they physical or psychological. Then fear is a very useful and sane feeling. I think tI felt no emotion watching the clip, because there's no movement. You used steady images. I think we can not grasp the intensity of the fear generated by violence without movment. Trying to go back to cinema, the master in that field is for me Hitchcock with « the birds ». The method he uses is simple: a bird on a wire is a normal situation, a hundred, it is no longer. This is what is creating a fear feeling, this shift by multiplication of normalcy to an abnormal situation. That's what the song says, all seems normal and « The only way you know she's there Is the subtle flavour in the air » You can then play on the frame, a figure that is normal, the same repeated a a hundred times it is no longer, and doing so your creating the movment. Another way of making feel fear, is the passing from a normal situation to an abnormal one, by using objects acting in a unexpected way. I was terrorised as a chil watching wells « wolds war »just because the martians had the shape of lamp post. In my children head this created what is so called « a cognitive disorder ». The lamp post, known as a benefic object destinated to light us were suddenly killing. Lack of understanding then fear. Another possible use is lightning, what creates fear is always something unseen or seen but not precisely, supposed ,but leting space to imagination (metamorphosis of Kafka). And mostly what creates fear, is the fact of knowing something there, but not seeing it. That's Spielberg in « the teeth of the sea » not showing the shark before one third of the film, but just letting us know is there with a few notes, pure genius. But using that seems much more difficult, in a video clip. What doesn't work, according to me: the car at the begining, thats too bucolic. If you want to say that violence, comes from far, use historical pics, much more efficace to my own point of view (I found some appropriate ones). The naked foot, it's from a gorgious girl, the atmosphere is voluptuous, I feel like taking the breakfast with her in a total peacefull state of mind. No fear at the horizon. I know there is the lyrics: with naked feet, but according to me, it sounds more like the fact that violence advance silently, at feltlike steps. We have a french expression on the matter, « at wolf steps ». if the foot is naked it's a beast one. « So full of rhythm but I cant find the beat ». any military boots image parading will suits. It will show the rytm. but this precise foot will be cut from the earth by leather, as beast skin. It has precisely lost ground with a positive side of human sharing through pleasure. More it will underlines the contrast between the silence and « the noise of boots » in the lyrics. « I can't find the beat ». You didn't use that one, very interesting. It's a play between heart beating and beat of rythm. As an image a heart beating and stoping to beat, or even more interesting, because it's the physical translation of anguish, a heart beating disorderly. That what I do understand of the lyrics. The brain image if you want to show that violence is something first resulting from a muscular action deconected with brain, west side story, when Tony stab Bernardo and his expression later on, showing that he only in a second time realises what happened, for exemple. If you want to show that the fear acts as paralysing the brain, on the side of the one submitted to it as well as the muscle, the image you used with the little girl sculpture is excellent, genial, efficace and sums up the wholeness of this phenomenom. The doll too ambiguous, and inapropriated. With the doll, we're in the space of game, « for false ». a toy is something meant for a child to express his agressivity and even sadism in an external way, without any damages. That's why the game is something so constructive and important for any child. In playing he is more than playing, he experiments any kinds of feelings and have a chance to express them. Be able to express agressivity is something important in life, even anger. Those two feelings are necessary and can reveal themselves even very founding for a child. The problem of violence isn't the expression of those two fellings, but the way there expression is reaching excess, skiding (you can make the car split if you like, same word into french = déraper) A child has to built that step through playing time. To sum up, i would say that a mother who will make a child suffer, is surely the one that was impeached to play with a doll as a child. To throw a doll against a wall under anger feelings, is without any consecuences, violence for itself applies and has consecuences on real life, and on living creatures. Following that line, Dolto is curing psychotic childs with a toy she had invented through time, that she had called the « flower doll » then, by pure « insight »no doll, no flower! To my own opinion the proper object in this case would be the mask. the one of « v for vendetta » for exemple as you use that precise film (on purpose). It's an undecipherable face. And a face for a child is always the guide for reading adult emotions. That's why autist child don't watch any face, they haven't built and construct emotional sharing that way. You'll see that the mask can be linked in a very interesting way with The lung image yes fear cut the breath, but « hard to breath » leads me to two kinds of images and surprisingly linked with the mask idea: images of may 68,with troops of masked police forces, attacking youngs students on the Parisian barricades. The use of « tear gaz » « the smell in the air ». other one, the image of soldiers in trenches during 14/18 war. They suffered from gazing, this war was a turning point in the history of wars as new violence spreading without ancient war rules. And violence is a negation of anyrules and laws. « hard to believe in anything at all » as first image, « no god, no master » the « A » circled of anarchy. The clock for me a clock running is much more an image of boredom that what you wanted to express. What leads to a fear feeling is that you perfectly know that something is going to happen, the problem being you're unable to predict when. There, any face looking anxiously at the sky, ans seeing nothing coming, an opportunity to exocise those image we've all seen, of that man looking at the new York sky the plane (normal situation) but the plane suddenly hiting the tower (split to an abnormal situation. More this will join those comments of peter on extremists in the Soil interview. The idea to use those same images that terrorised us all in order to denounce violence, is something that fits me. Historicaly speaking, london bombings during the WWII, and the incredible endurance of the londoners, knowing each night they will be bombed, and enduring it. The dentist chair excellent, but much more efficace the last scene of « Brazil » when the main actor is on the chair . You've got here the addition of physical, mental, suffering and you can remove the scene with Nathalie Portman illustating mental suffering, only understandable by those having seen the film or knowing the book. In addition, you're using a Monthy Python film, dear to Peter cultural background. The body under the sheet We're awaiting it a way or the other, but if you put it at the begining it cuts all the effect. I will put it only at the end. The hand the hand is a symbol, and as one ave both positive and negative aspect. Furthermore this hand is opened, and much more positive even if it's the hand of the victim and you try to underlines the fact that in certain cases the acceptance of the victim gives way to the aggressor to act freely, that and remains too ambiguous. Even in the case of uncouncious collaboration with the agressor, of fascination towards his agressivity, the body doesn't rect that way. There's at the same time a feeling of « survival instinct » that reacts in evryone. The hand can't be opened. The agressor one is closed, it's a fist. Furthermore when I tried to educates children in difficult areas, and sensibilise them about violence problems, when I tried to put words on it, the first thing I asked them to think about was the difference between a caress and a slap. The problem isn't the hand (means) the problem isn't the gesture (strictly similar in both cases, caress and slap) the problem was just a question of speed. They had to slow down the very same gesture to pass from the slap to the caress. In general, they were astonished of the discovery. Then for me this hand is too ambiguous. Tv diner, tv news two ideas the violence is something supported by anyone during the news, it's a real visual violence coming from the outside and entering the familial circle. But also the idea that violence comes from the lack of communication (Tv diner, with no more exchanges between the members of the family, all watching the same set and the opposite for me being the evenings gatherings in rural communities (don't know why!)). You've got to show that family and make feel a way or the other that exchanges disapearance in the family circle is linked with the appearance of a tv set in each family. That what I use also to tell the children. What is the difference between human beings and animals: the ability to speak. While animals have no other choice than the one to fight each others, we've got the ability to solve our problems and conflict by speaking. Violence is first a non use of words, and is spreading first in aera with low level of vocabulary or access to the ability to express oneself through words. When you can't speak, you use your fists, which represents a kind of coming back to a kind of very primary means of expression in our evolution. -the bird in the cage great, love the idea. Just to end, some piece of info found in Peter bio by total hazard on the web and that need to be confirmed : he « should » have been arrested around those years as suspected to be activ member of the Baader band, http://en.wikipedia.org which is absolutly increidible. I just note that fact cause Biko was written and performed in the following record. The idea behind being that this precise fact, if confirmed, could be the real starting point of a surge of counsciousness towards injustice and the begining of a thinking about violence's roots. Mozo, hope you will read it and take it for what it is a real willingness to share with you some considerations on the subject and the song. Can I call this text a constructive criticism? Your friend. oh "clicking her toes", that's of course the old image of the death squeletton, why not use the clones of stars war, as new image? Kicking the cloud with my moccasin shoes boreness make dreamers, Mozo, that why any child should be given this precious amount of time during which making work his imagination. I red lately th

that doing so, children are given the opportunity to solve highly complex problem, just by dreaming. under fear, no dream is allowed. Data stored in microdot that the way you tend to behave in such case turning to a computer, processing surrounding infos. I didn't red the thread previously and the infos you put in it, but another last image arised, it was the one of Rutger Hauer in Blade Runner. SFiction allows to speak of phylosophical issues, in some way. the one delt in Blade Runner is really the one of the android knowing he's going to die, and just asking this simple question: when ? that the other difference that make of us humans, mankind is the only specie living all its life knowing it will end. no other animal, to my knowing have to face that threat. then Blade runner.

Alice Miller official website videos: the roots of violence are not unknown http://www.alice-miller.com/video.php The roots of violence are not unknown The battered brain and emotions banned Tuesday 09 septembre 2008 Translated into French by Beatrice Anceaux. Findings: 1 - The development of our brain depends on what one has suffered. The brain structure in the first 4 years of life, according to the experiments that the environment offers the child. Thus the brain of a child whose experience is mainly marked by love will grow differently from that of a child who has been treated cruelly. 2 - Almost all children of our planet are beaten in the first years of their lives. They learn early violence and the lesson is written into their brain. No child is born violent. Violence is NOT genetic. It exists because children are beaten using in their adult life lesson integrated by the brain. 3 - As the battered children are not allowed to defend themselves, they must suppress their anger and their rage against their parents who were humiliated, who killed their innate empathy and insulted their dignity. They come out later this rage, as adults, on scapegoats and especially their own children. Lacking empathy, some are directing their anger against themselves (through eating disorders, drug addiction, depression, etc.) or against other adults (through war, terrorism, crime, etc.). Answers: Q: It is without asking any questions that parents beat their children to obey. Nobody, except a small minority, do not protest against this dangerous habit. Why this pattern so evident (that of the deceived victim to a perpetrator of abuse) is he totally ignored by the world? Why even the Pope, leaders of the moral behavior of so many millions of believers, does have hitherto they never informed them that beating children is a crime? A: Because we have almost all been beaten and that we all had to learn early on that these cruel acts are normal, harmless and even good for us. Nobody ever told us that these were crimes against humanity. This lesson wrong, immoral and absurd was included in our developing brains. This explains the emotional blindness that governs the world. Q: Can we free ourselves from emotional blindness that we develop in childhood? A: We can, at least to some degree, free ourselves from this blindness by daring to feel our repressed emotions including our fear and rage against our parents banned us often terrorized during these long years have been the best of our lives. We can catch these years. But by facing the truth we can transform our inner child filled with fear and denial in an adult knowledgeable and responsible, so that finally regained his empathy with which he had so early deprived. By becoming informed people, we can not deny the fact that beating children is a crime that should be banned on the entire planet. Conclusion: Take care of emotional needs of our children means much more than give them a happy childhood. This means allowing for future adult brain function in a healthy and rational free of perversion and madness. Forced to learn in childhood that beating children is undoubtedly good for him, the lesson is the most ridiculous and most puzzling that the most dangerous consequences. This lesson backed with being cut off from his emotions creates the real roots of violence. www.alice-miller.com © 2009 Alice Miller this could be useful as well. last idea following this line for the video, at the end, on the la,la,la,la :-] the image of the little red child during the varsow ghetto in "the chindler's list" of Sielberg. this according to me will suit more, and follow the idea of Alice Miller work, on the violence being repeated from generation to generation. at the end of all that, I must admit that your video was imagined at a personal level, while mine, would deal with the results of each individual violence added and reflected though sociological events. But anyway, that's a round thinking, both are linked.

another text linking more directly fear with violence. "I am convinced that if parents had the chance to be informed, at the birth of their children, severity of abuse inflicted on them deliberately or inadvertently, they could make choices about how best to support . For this he must dare break the silence and speak openly and frankly the consequences of these acts on the fate of individuals rather than being installed in the comfort of fate or bad luck. It is now scientifically proven that this is not the fate that is involved in delinquent behavior, destructive by suicide, drugs, alcohol or submission to pedophilia and the abuse of our children. Too many people still ignore and ignore this fact and prefer to strengthen violence education for growing children to obey without worrying at all that it is in a state of fear that the bond of trust and of Love can not exist. In this discipline devoid of any sense that we make just a teenager and future adult depression, brutal and greedy for power. This conference can enable all those who dare to understand the interest not brutalize children and enjoy the repair tool that offers Alice Miller "for the younger" SAY THE TRUTH FOR KIDS.
