Hiya folkses! First post, hear? Nice ta' be here after so many long years of listening without gabbing on line. I guess I had nothin' much to say that hadn't been said before a better by others.
Years ago I was drowsing at night and listening to a rock station in L.A. and heard a version of Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds done acapella and the more I listened, the more familiar the voice sounded. Suddenly I realised that it was good old Peter Gabriel!
Now, I am a huge Beatles fan of course, and Mr. G's version was a MAGNIFICENT amazing arrangement. I had never imagined that anyone could cover such a unique and brilliant piece of writing and arrangement with a fresh spin but HOT DAMN!! PG pulled it off fer sher! The RAW creativity and skill of the vocal layering was utterly intriguing and nothing short of astonishing to me really.
Well, time marched on and look as I might I have not been able to find a recording of that mother anywhere. Am I just not a child of Athena? IOW am I a lame hunter?
If anyone knows where to find this gem I will be very grateful!! Thanks for anything you all can do to hep me out in this!
