"it feels so unnatural, Peter Gabriel too" -
one of those new covers? Here we got PG performing a song by "Hot Chip" from "Vampire Weekend", both not familiar to me before. Peter sings his own name.
(search "Peter Gabriel - Hot Chip" on youtube.com)
I guess if you haven`t heard it before, you will like it!
Any new song is always welcome!!! :-]

Thank You Cimber,I have hear this song on youtube
I like very much this nice song, there is joy and happiness!
For me It is the voice of Peter, his personality wich give the song the profound and true sense,Peter give something special!
.there is something mysterious and fascinating when Peter sings.

Peter sometimes needs some guys and musicians around him while recording a new song or vocal part, instead of ending up in his well-known dark and melancholic mood.
Collaborations can help the master to lift him up!
only 3 songs for example :
no. 1 : "When you`re falling" (with AfroceltSoundsystem)
no. 2 : "Shaking the Tree" (with Youssou)
no. 3 : "Down to Earth" (with Sowetho Gospel Choir)

Come on Alex, just listen to it a few times - it cannot always end up in "Darkness" or "No self Control" :-]

I've tried!
I don't like the music/arrangement or the lyrics. Each to their own I guess.

Thank You for the beautiful information Cimber!
OOOhhhh "Shaking the Tree" with Youssou is fantastic!
I think Peter choose collaborations with his instinct of Artist.
The instinct of an Artis is precious, rare, very special, like Peter!
Don't worry,Alex S,it is a nice song,but not everything can always pleasure!
.but the voice of Peter Yessss forever!

Yes Dolce Vita, "Tree" is fun and fantastic, altough it has got a serious background - it was written for Womens rights in Africa and actually all around the world I think.
Shaking all around ! :-]

I've grown to quite love the Vampire Weekend album. I only recently heard the PG cover of "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa" with Hot Chip and I was blown away. He does some nice things with the track, and his voice sounds amazing on it. Does anyone have an Mp3 they can share of it? I've only found it as a stream on-line.

Slowcloud . . .
I never listened to the original version and - believe it or not - still do not know what "Vampire Weekend" is all about .
But one thing for sure is, that this song with Gabriel-vocal is GREAT!
