Newbie here, just finding my way around.
I'm currently blasting out 'Up' which arrived this morning and it sounds brilliant.
I'm planning on buying all the other CDs and would welcome a bit of advice.
Should I get the remasters or should I pick them all up cheap on ebay?
What should I buy next?
Is it worth hunting down the SACDs? I'm quite tempted to get an SACD player at the moment, although I'll be sticking with a stereo setup. Do the stereo versions on the SACDs sound any better than the remasters?
Sorry for all the questions! Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome. I think it would be best to get the remasters. They are undoubtedly worth it. As for the next album to get I personally suggest getting ?So?, ?Passion? and ?Us??in any order really. After which the rest of his back catalogue is ripe for picking and enjoyment. However, I the very last album I purchased was ?Peter Gabriel ? and I would suggest the same for you. Not that is a bad album, but is certainly the one (personally speaking) that grows on you over time and so I feel that it should be the last one to get.
Hoep that helps. Let us know how you get on

Thanks for the reply. Still obsessed with 'Up' at the moment. Each new listen keeps bringing out little bits I hadn't heard before.
Yes, I'll probably do a bit of working backwards from here and check out 'Us' next, though I'm quite keen to listen to 'Passion' as the reviews are intriguing me.
I've also been listening to the Daily Mail CD!

'Us' has just arrived and I'm going to listen while doing the ironing.
So 'Steam' should be quite appropriate!
Us,Security, and Gabriel 3(melt album) Are a must have.

Yes, PG3 is the best of all his albums.

Well in my backwards listening I'm still getting into 'Us' at the moment.
It would be easy at this (getting obsessed) point to splurge out and buy all of them but I'm going to try and give each album time to soak in before I move onto the next.
'Us' sounds to be just as great as 'Up' at the moment. In fact I think it might overtake it given time.
Standout track on first listen was 'Blood of Eden.' The first two songs had washed over me a bit but 'Eden' grabbed me straight away. What a brilliant song. A couple of songs sounding a bit too much like 'Sledgehammer' at the moment but I'm guessing they'll start to take on their own identity soon.
'Secret World' is great and I like the 14-paintings one. I'm assuming Passion is a bit like this?
