One of the most recognisable images of Peter was taken by the late photographer Trevor Key for the cover of So. Trevor also took the cover images for Sledgehammer and Don’t Give Up and he worked extensively with the designer Peter Saville.
A new exhibition of Trevor’s work, entitled Trevor Key’s Top 40, has just opened at the Hull School of Art and Design and runs until 18 December. Entrance is free and more details can be found here.
“Trevor was a wonderful photographer. In his quiet, gentle humoured way he would find ways to make those he was shooting relaxed, enabling him to capture natural moments in a very precise manner.” – Peter Gabriel
As well as his work with Peter, the exhibition also includes sleeves he designed for New Order, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Can, Tangerine Dream and Sex Pistols.
