Society of Sound: July

Ben Taylor

The Bowers & Wilkins Society of Sound release for July comes from singer-songwriter Ben Taylor.

Though born into a musical world (his parents are James Taylor and Carly Simon) it wasn’t really in Taylor’s mind to become a singer until he was into his twenties. His first album release Famous Among the Barns was released in 2003 but it took until Another Run Around the Sun, in 2005, for Taylor to feel he’d started to create something which represented his true musical nature.

“My music is a huge amalgamation of things and influence and styles, but it’s very much made up of music that my parents made that I heard growing up, it’s ingrained in me. I have a hard time separating between the two.”

The Another Run… album was co-produced by Kevin Bacon and Bacon is again the producer for this month’s B&W release Naked. A live performance in a stripped back format.
