The Peoples Climate March

“Like many folk, I first heard warnings about climate change a few years back and like many folk, I did very little. Recently, however, with a fast growing body of alarming evidence of climate irregularities, the growing consensus among scientists of the very real dangers, and irrefutable evidence of increasing air and water pollution, I have come round to believing that this really is the issue that is most likely to remove the chance of a healthy and peaceful life for my children and grandchildren, and for billions of other families around the world.

I have been slow to adjust my own lifestyle, which I know now I have to look at seriously, but unless we convince our governments that this needs immediate and irreversible action, we are being shown clearly, that the time in which we can take meaningful action to slow down our own long-term chance of survival, is fast slipping away from us.

This big blue ball is the only possible home for humanity in the near future. If our family home was being destroyed and poisoned in the same way, we would do something immediately. This is not just a campaign for activists, but for everyone who wants to live on a planet capable of sustaining us.

We will only achieve a sustainable future, if global citizens demand global action.

I have been working to help my friends at Avaaz, who are organising this Climate March, and will be joining them and hundreds of thousands of others around the world on Sept. 21.

Please be a part of this historic campaign.
