Peter Performs ‘Biko’ for Desmond Tutu

On Thursday 31st March, Archbishop Desmond Tutu was awarded a “Skoll Foundation Global Treasure”. He came out of retirement from public speaking to deliver a keynote address at the New Theatre in Oxford. As part of the evening’s celebration Peter was invited to perform ‘Biko’. He was joined by Baaba Maal, who also performed one of his own songs that evening, along with his percussionist Jim Palmer. On strings were Louisa Fuller (violin), Vanessa McNaught (violin) John Metcalfe (viola) and Roz Gladstone (cello).

The Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship is the premier, international platform for accelerating entrepreneurial approaches and innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing social issues. This year’s Forum was held in Oxford, England, March 30-April 1, 2011.
