..."Our first full listen is this take on Arcade Fire's "My Body Is A Cage," and unsurprisingly, its gothic bombast is a fine foil for Metcalfe's symphonic arrangement. It's the only song from the collection to feature a choir...."

Peter has partnered with Music for Relief by donating an unreleased version of 'Make Tomorrow Today' for download to support the Haitian Earthquake response effort.
There is a chance that a clip of Peter performing 'Heroes' will be aired on Larry King Live this evening - nothing is confirmed as yet, but we've been helping them out with some material to raise awareness around the Haiti earthquake disaster.
You may have seen that s Special Edition of Scratch My Back has now been announced. The package contains a second disc with four extra tracks :
1. 'The Book of Love' (Remix)
2. 'My Body is a Cage' (Oxford London Temple Version)
3. 'Waterloo Sunset' (Oxford London Temple Version)
4. 'Heroes' (Wildbeest Mix)
The extra tracks come on a second disc because there was a great desire to preserve the integrity of the album. A lot of work went into the running order and the finer detail such as the gaps between tracks on 'Scratch My Back', so it was decided to keep the extra material as a separate experience.
There is also pretty solid rumour of a vinyl version of the record in the pipeline along with the various digital versions such as an iTunes Lp's and the possibility of accessing higher than CD quality files.
The project is still developing, with the covers of Peter's songs by other artists beginning arriving hot from the mixing desk and a plan emerging to release them as 'double a-sides' through iTunes on 2010's full moons.
Peter, Richard Chappell and John Metcalfe are busy creating extraordinary new arrangements from the PG back catalogue, and the phone is red-hot in the tour office as more dates for New Blood are finalised.
We'll try and keep you posted.
A second Berlin date has now been added to the New Blood shows. In a Star Wars like move the show is a prequel to that previously announced.
We have 200 special access tickets available for this date.
We are working on the release of Peter's 'Scratch My Back' record with a company called The Collective in the U.S.A.
If you're in the U.S.A and want to help them target their campaign more effectively, we'd appreciate your taking a few moments to fill in their questionnaire.
Any data submitted will only be used in the targeting of our marketing campaign, your data won't be passed to any other companies, or used in any other campaigns
Members of The Full Moon Club can now enter our competition to win a pair of tickets to the New Blood Tour. (One pair for each of the following dates Paris, Berlin and London on March 27th, so 3 winners)
It's not often, in-fact, only once in a blue moon, that you'll find us making a second Full Moon Club video update in a month. Add into that mix that this is the last day of the year, the end of the first decade of the 21st Century and you've got something as unusual as a well preserved wisdom tooth from a Buff Pekin.
Along with this month's update we are also bringing you part two of our 'Scratch My Back' podcast series, that's a first chance to hear excerpts from tracks five to eight on the album - 'Listening Wind', 'The Power Of The Heart', 'My Body is a Cage' and 'The Book of Love' with introductions from Peter.
Nige Tassel has been talking to Peter and his team about the making of Scratch My Back.
In this first instalment of a mini podcast series introducing 'Scratch My Back', Peter talks about the first four tracks from the album, and we hear excerpts from the final studio masters.
Peter Gabriel will release his 'Scratch My Back' album project on February 15th 2010 on Virgin Records. The album is the first part of a series of song exchanges in which Peter and other leading artists reinterpret each others songs. In this first installment we hear excerpts from, and the stories behind Peter's recordings of Heroes, The Boy In The Bubble, Mirrorball and Flume.
Hot off the press is the announcement of a second night for New Blood at London's O2 Arena, that's on March 28th.
More details soon
We've added Paris, Bercy on MArch 22nd and Berlin O2 on MArch 25th to the list of confirmed dates on the 'New Blood' tour around the release of 'Scratch My Back'
The first set of special access tickets we put up yesterday for the London show on the 27th of MArch sold out overnight, but we've got the promoter to release a further set, so London is also back in the mix.
All our ticket packages comprise good seats, access to the soundcheck, a tour T-shirt and a copy of the 'Scratch My Back' CD.
Standard tickets for these shows will be released in the coming days, so if these packages aren't for you, we still hope to see you at one of the shows. We also hope to have other dates outside Europe to announce soon.
Peter is bringing the 'Scratch My Back' experience to select venues early in 2010. The New Blood tour is Peter Gabriel, orchestra, no drums, no guitars
We have two special offers for the London O2 show, both giving the best seats, access to the soundcheck, a tour T-shirt and an event laminate and a copy of the 'Scratch My Back' CD. £150 gets you in the first five rows, £100 rows 6-10 - full details are in our store, or you can follow this presale link to buy standard tickets.
