Hello,

A moment of frenetic activity has coincided with a full moon shining upon us, so we thought we’d exercise Peter’s mailing list to tell you about some of the highlights coming up. Tonight being a full moon, you can also hear some of this directly from Peter in his Full Moon Club video update.

Peter and the band are in the last few days of rehearsals in a huge hanger a few miles away from Real World, putting the final touches to the show they will be taking to Mexico and South America.

18th March 2009 – Campo Futbol, Caracas, Venezuela
20th March 2009 – Explanada Del Monumental, Lima, Peru
22nd March 2009 – Estadio De Velez, Buenos Aires, Argentina
24th March 2009 – Arena Santiago, Santiago, Chile
27th March 2009 – Foro Sol, Distrito Federal, Mexico City, Mexico
29th March 2009 – Arena VFG, Jalisco, Guadalajara, Mexico

All of ‘The Peter Gabriel 2009’ shows will be made available as an Encore Series of live recordings. We are once again partnering with TheMusic.com to bring you top quality recordings of these Latin American shows.

As with The Warm Up Tour 2007, each concert will be recorded live off the soundboard, mixed by Peter’s Front of House Engineer, Ben Findlay, and pressed into high-quality manufactured 2-CD sets (not CD-Rs). Shows can be purchased separately or, for the ultimate collection, can be purchased as a complete set (all 7 shows) in either one of our Collectors’ Edition Box Sets.

The Black Swan Effect have been confirmed as Peter’s support on many of the upcoming dates. The Black Swan Effect’s first recordings appeared (under their working name of Grindhouse/Mondo Cane) as part of the exclusive B&W Society of Sound Music Club. At the heart of the band is the songwriting duo, Dominic Greensmith (Reef) and Gareth Hale.

Our friends at The Filter have been working wonders with Bayesian mathematics, which as far as we can tell gives something akin to magical powers to their recommendation engine. They’ve conjured up some new features, one of which has been a passion of Peter’s for some time, the Taste Mixer. You may recall Peter talking about the possibility of mixing Dr. Dre with Britney Spears in last April’s Full Moon Video. You can now experience this yourself by mixing your music tastes with Peter’s. The Taste Mixer uses a database of Peter’s musical preferences which you can blend with your own to create a playlist where both your tastes meet.

People from the UK can also listen to music based on Peter’s tastes.

If you want to put your own spin on Peter’s music, Games Without Frontiers has recently been added to Real World Remixed, with some great results. We can’t put you on stage with Peter, but we can do with one of this favourite Real World artists, Daby Touré (who some of you may remember from earlier PG tours)! A track by Daby has been added to Real World Remixed and the best version uploaded wins a prize which includes the opportunity to get together with the artist at a live gig.

If you do make it to one of the shows, we’d love to hear your comments in the Forum and look forward to seeing your photos in the tour gallery, which will, with some help from the multimedia elves, be making a return for the upcoming shows.
