The show was amazing
Our Australian lighting operator Rohan pointed out that there is a Crowded House song, that goes - 'every where you go, always take the weather with you'. So it goes, everywhere we go right now it's raining - every show. This time it seemed all the rain from the last 3 shows came back to get us. It was so wet, we almost could not do the show, there was water every where, in everything.
The rain made all the crew even more stressed. We have a whole show check list that we all do, having so much rain just before we changed over from Crowed House did not help in any way shape or form.
Well, we got it all ready, my desk got quite wet, but 'Big Dan', our main sound tech, got it all restarted just in time. I heard from Josh our radio tech, that on the other side of stage, over Dee Millers desk, there was a huge plastic bag of water just waiting to burst all over him .. but lucky it didn't.
The show was amazing, PG just relaxed and went for it. This was the best show so far, despite all our problems, it was just great. Everybody played their asses off.
Of course it's the show to be wary of, as it's 'the big one' that you don't want to mess up, so we were all on edge from the start of the day. All the band just went for it, and the energy on stage was electric. It became fun, PG really sang his heart out and started to come up with a new melody 'Snapshot', that was I think the best performance in a good few tours. Lovetown has really made it's self a new place musically for the band, PG really lets go on that now.
All good then, and the end of a gear and transportation nightmare for our production manager Tam. So what do we get, a whole day on one of the oldest tour busses in existence. We left London at 2 am and got to Dresden at 7.30 p.m. We only stopped for I think 20 mins on the way. Oh the life of a crew .....
Let's see if the weather has gone with us here to Germany.
